Over the years we have built up an excellent reputation of good, open rugby on the field blended with our traditional after match hospitality in the Trimpell Club after the games. Everyone must agree we have come a hell of a long way since our humble beginnings some 20 seasons ago.
We are an ambitious, forward thinking club that wishes to progress to the highest possible standard of rugby league that we can, but in this day and age this can only be achieved with the generous support of our sponsors. Over the last couple of years, our hardworking committee has built up some great links with local businesses in respect of sponsorship, advertising and promoting Heysham Atoms and Rugby League in general - long may it continue.
In such a sparse Rugby League area we find ourselves caught between Barrow and Wigan with very little in between. No schools, junior or senior play Rugby League in our catchment area and therefore what we have achieved is even more rewarding. This season we can boast 6 teams - 1st Team, Alliance, Ladies, U12, U10 and U9's. All credit goes out to the players, coaches and parents of all sections who love Rugby League with a passion and want to make the club a success in this area for years to come.
In the first team, over the last few seasons we have lost a couple of quality players, especially in the back division but this has been offset by some talented youngsters coming through sooner than expected. We have a void of teams between 12 and 16 years old and this is an area that the Committee has highlighted as vital to the clubs future as we strive to bring more Rugby League success to the Lancaster, Morecambe and Heysham area.
Finally, I am looking forward to the season and hope that every team plays to their full potential and achieve their individual and team goals.
