Heysham Atoms 28 - Clayton 52

A strong Clayton outfit certainly put the Atoms to the sword winning 52-28. The Atoms picked a squad of 21 players with all getting at least 40 minutes of action on the pitch.

The red hot conditions and the quality of the opposition certainly drained the Atoms to the full. The Atoms produced a more competitive second half with Dave McVernon, Lima Hall, Shaun Humpries and Neil Walker all going over for tries.

Dave McVernon and Liam Hall along with Simon Brooks also featured in the Man of the Match placings.

The game was expertly refereed by Dominic Harrison who is soon to depart to pastures new due to new work commitments.
