Lancaster Vs Blackpool 7th June 2003
The view from Lancaster
Blackpool won their first match in the RLC, overcoming stubborn resistance from their hosts at the Giant Axe. In front of 203 spectators, Lancaster opened the scoring with two penalty goals to Andy Garnett but in a whirlwind spell of 15 minutes either side of half time Blackpool stunned the hosts by racking up all of their 38 points. Prop forward Mark Holden led the way with a brace of tries and Tim Burns, Darren Holden, Ben Simpson, Darren Green and Craig Campbell also crossed. Late on, Lancaster restored some credibility with tries to Darren Clarke, Liam Hall and their best player on the day, Rob Shaw. |
