Over the years we have built up an excellent reputation of good, open rugby on the field blended with our traditional after match hospitality in the Trimpell Club after the games. Our current and continued success has only been achieved with the generous support of our sponsors.
Heysham Atoms are launching U14's and U15's in the North West Counties league this summer. Players are required now, training starts on Wednesday 8th February 2012, and continues on all Wednesday's in February, 7.30PM at Trimpell Club.
For more information contact Liam Aspden on: 8/2/12 – 29/2/12 Saturday 26th May 2012: To celebrate 25 years of rugby, Heysham Atoms will be hosting an awards evening, re-union match (Over 30's Vs Under 30's), Comedian, DJ, Sausage Sizzle, Band and a 'special' guest panel of former players for a Q+A session. Contact Rob Shaw or Dave Crow to confirm your attendance and availability for the game. After 25 years of winter rugby league, a vote was taken amongst the first team players and committee over a switch to summer playing season and the possibility of entering the North West Mens Summer League By a vote of 15 votes to 5 (4 abstentions) the decision was made to switch to the summer league starting with the March-November 2012 season. Heysham Atoms will not be entering the pre-season 'War of the Roses' competition, but instead start the historic summer campaign on 21st April 2012. The season will stretch until 27th October 2012 for league fixtures, with 3rd, 10th and 17th November 2012 reserved for play-off fixtures. More info on the Summer Switch

Atoms Under 16's Play First Fixture The Heysham Atoms Juniors section has been reformed for the 2010/11 season under the guidance of Andy Helme. The Under 16s team played its first fixture at the end of June 2011, where they put in a highly creditable performance against an experienced Chorley Panthers team. We are currently seeking fixtures for the forthcoming season, please get in touch of you would to arrange a fixture.

LAUNCH PROGRAMME IN NEW WINDOW On Saturday, Lancaster John O’Gaunt raced against the Heysham Atoms Rugby League Team on the ergs in a team sponsorship event. The money raised in sponsorship by the JOG rowers would be put to new equipment whilst the money raised on the day from the collection pot was to be donated to Cancer Research UK. The race distance was set to be the full length of the River Lune (71km), held in Lancaster Market Square and would be in the form of a team relay. The three teams competing were JOG Seniors/Students, JOG Juniors and the Atoms. The Atoms' fixtures for the 2010-1011 season are now available. The Atoms start their campaign with a tough opening home fixture against Langworthy Reds (4th September 2010), followed by a massive away trip to Ulverston on the 11th. The Atoms will be running a coach for supporters to the Ulverston game and also the Golburne Parkside A game on the 25th September. Atoms' latest sponsor comes on board
Two promising Heysham Atoms Juniors attended the final trial for the Lancashire under 14's squad at Chorley last wednesday. Daniel Helme from Morecambe High School and Curtis Lacey from Carnforth High joined 50 other lads in a 3-way set of trial games featuring the cream of Lancashire's talent.
Main sponsor David Bland, Director of Portrait Pools and Enclosures Ltd who have once again sponsored the Atoms with a significant cash injection enabling the club to purchase new kit and equipment. It is with great sorrow that Heysham Atoms Rugby League team have to inform all friends, family and supporters of the sad passing of Mr Peter Flanagan. Peter was a loyal supporter of the Heysham Atoms team for many, many years, supporting them both at home and at away matches. His contribution as Secretary and Press Officer and the write ups he added to the programme were extremely appreciated. Heysham Atoms send their heartfelt condolences to his wife Rita and their children. The Flanagan connection with Heysham Atoms extended with his sons also contributing with Paul playing for the team and Neil coaching on numerous occasions. Peter will be sadly missed.
